Grocery store workers are holding our fucking society together right now and if you are mean to them I am gonna suplex you

Listen. My sister got an email that WalMart had TP back in stock today. She got there, and someone had a full basket and was arguing and ready to come to blows with the poor stock clerk arguing one pack per customer. That clerk had been given the job of WATCHING and BABYSITTING that aisle bc of ppl like this.

Times like this can bring out the best in humanity, but far too often it brings out the worst.

Protect the folks who aren’t allowed to call the customers out on their bullshit. I promise you that they need you to have their backs right now.

Do y’all ever just get ANGRY about how cool technology is inevitably used for evil. Like, smart homes could be such an exciting concept?

Imagine: your home is entirely voice activated. You can run yourself a bath when you’re exhausted and sore without having to get up to turn the water on. You can alleviate your anxiety about having left the stove on without having to leave work. The roomba can find your glasses for you when you drop them and all you have to do is ask.

Now imagine that this is all on a closed circuit! Your TV can predict what shows you’ll like, but it won’t give that information to a company that will use it for disturbingly specific advertisement. And everything has manual overrides, just in case.

Can you imagine a future where every car is self-driving? Maybe even solar powered? Or better yet, apply those same concepts to widespread public transportation! We could almost completely eliminate traffic jams.

My house could feed my cats while I’m on vacation! My fridge could tell me when I’m low on milk! I could brew coffee without getting out of bed!

Hell, most of this stuff already exists!

But nooooo, I can’t have any of it because there are people and companies out there who will actively use that stuff against me and I don’t want fucking Amazon to know what kind of underwear I own.

I’m not bitter or anything.

the secret cheat code for women is realizing you dont have to date men

this doesnt just go for lesbians it goes for bi women and straight women too. i cant even count how many times straight women have told me “i wish i was a lesbian so i didnt have to date men” but guess what … u Dont have to date men

to be clear this also isnt necessarily saying ‘go date women instead!!’ its just saying…. u dont have to date men. u dont have to be dating women in order to not date men! in fact if ur not attracted to women at all please dont date women just as a substitute for men. but if dating men isnt making u happy… u dont have to do that. u dont have to make a space in ur life for men

image

im singlehandedly destroying every mans mental health by telling women its ok to not date them

thank you for your service

Hercules is the most visually creative of the Disney Reneissance films. If not any Disney film ever.

The three Fates sharing an eye.

image

Hades’ flaming hair.

image

The various designs of the mythological monsters and titans.

image

The diverse faces and body types of all the minor characters.

It’s a very visually engaging movie.

How could I forget the Underworld

And the opening sequence

Y’all need to get off Walter Disney’s cock

Jeez, I just said the movie looks nice. No need to get antsy.

Also like, pretty sure WD didn’t make that movie. It was the effort of various animators who sometimes get overlooked because we don’t see them WORKING on it for so many days, just the two hour long result.

Pretty sure that Walt Disney didn’t work on Hercules since it came out decades after he died.

Fun fact! The reason Hercules has such a unique style is because Musker and Clements brought illustrater Gerald Scarfe (famous for his work on Pink Floyd’s The Wall) to be the conceptual character artist. His original character designs are wild

Hey kids, did you know that you can be critical of a company and acknowledge how shitty it is in its business practices, and appreciate that it produces a lot of good art, much of which is created by artists and animators who have nothing whatsoever to do with the aforementioned shitty business practices?

Fucking wild that you can do that.

I’m glad this thread went exactly where I wanted it to
